Jersey Baptist Church is a group of people who believe in Jesus Christ that meet together regularly to worship God, to learn from the Bible, to support each other, and to try to make the community around us a better place.

As Christians, we are part of a massive worldwide family of up to a third of the human race. Christians are people who believe that: there is one God who made the world and loves humanity; that God reveals Himself to us through creation and the Bible; that God was born in human form as Jesus Christ to show us what He is like; that Jesus died on a cross to deal with the root of all that is wrong with the world and with us (’sin’); and that Jesus rose from the dead and is among us today in the person of His Holy Spirit, gradually changing us and the world around us until Jesus returns to make all things perfect for those who have chosen to be with Him.

As Evangelicals, we believe that the ‘good news’ about Jesus Christ is for all humanity and therefore we must not keep it to ourselves! JBC is part of the Jersey Evangelical Alliance of other Christian churches who share this conviction.

As Baptists, we believe that Jesus Christ rather than any human leader (such as the Queen or the Pope) is the head of the Christian Church; we believe that the Bible rather than human dictat or tradition is the final authority; and we believe that the Bible teaches that a person should only be baptised if they choose for themselves to believe in Jesus Christ.
