Structure
We believe in ‘every member in ministry’ – in other words, taking the analogy of different parts of the human body that Paul used in the Bible, that every member of our fellowship has a role to play if we are to function properly.
Baptised Christians who choose to make Jersey Baptist Church their home become members and church decisions are made by membership vote, according to the Church Constitution.
The membership appoints a full-time, salaried Pastor to oversee all aspects of life at JBC, taking particular responsibility for ensuring that we remain consistent with the teachings of the Bible. Our current Pastor is David Prothero (Tel: +4… or email David).
The membership has also appointed an Assistant to the Pastor, who takes particular responsibility for the work with Children and Families. His name is Neil Gallaher (Tel: +44 1534 725425 or email Neil).
The Pastor and Assistant to the Pastor are supported in their leadership roles by a team of Elders (Email the Elders): men who are elected by the membership for 3 years at a time. The current Elders are:
- Adam Clarke (Tel: +44 1534 630971 or email Adam)
- Simon Clarke (Tel: +44 1534 730004 or email Simon)
- Robert De La Cour (Tel: +44 1534 483161 or email Robert)
- Brian Livesey (Tel: +44 1534 851352 or email Brian)
- Ian Alder (Tel: +44 1534 747154 or email Ian)
