David Prothero Pastor

David Prothero serves JBC on a paid full-time basis as its main pastor/ teacher. He is mainly responsible for preaching during Sunday worship. David was born on Merseyside. During his younger days he was sent to church but it was only in his late teens that he came to appreciate the real meaning, power and the personal claims of the Christian message.

Within a few years, he was enrolled in a theological college and began his training for the full-time Bible ministry.Jersey Baptist Church is the fifth church that he has ministered to over a period of twenty-five years. He has also preached in numerous other churches across Britain and Internationally.

David holds both a Masters Degree (Cum Laude) and a PHD in Church Dogma and History.

He is married to Sarah and he has two teenage daughters Kathryn & Hannah. His main interests, outside of the church, are sport (he is an avid supporter of Liverpool FC) playing the guitar, travel and enjoying good company especially in coffee shops & tea rooms. Thirty years after first becoming a Christian and then being baptised on the profession of his faith in Christ, David remains committed to the view that the Bible is true and that its essential message is vital.
